Our literacy and numeracy programs are designed to maximise each students’ potential, ensuring that they achieve success. Data is used to inform teachers’ planning and target students’ learning.

St Laurence’s employs a focused teaching approach during literacy and numeracy sessions. Students are actively involved in literacy and numeracy through differentiated learning opportunities to ensure that individual needs are met. The Reading Recovery, Levelled Literacy Intervention, Rainbow Reading and Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) Programs provide support for students who require assistance with reaching the literacy and numeracy benchmarks.

The broader curriculum is taught through an Inquiry model with a Catholic perspective. Our students explore rich questions which develop an understanding of the world that reflects the value of each and every person and particularly themselves.
